THE VIKING RACE is a F3F class radio-control model glider flying event, which takes place ever second year. It is a timed racing event, where each pilot races against the clock, flying ten legs of a 100 metre course, and completing as many rounds as possible during the week-long event. Historically, it began about 20 years ago as a friendly contest between countries where Vikings had invaded in the past - eg Norway, Sweden Scotland, etc. The event has become so popular now that in 2006 we entertained 89 competitors from 18 different nations. The friendly event has become a world-class competition attracting the best of the best! |
